New Version of Easy Events for Confluence: More Flexibility in Event Planning

EasyEvents logoOur Easy Events add-on for Confluence, with its intuitive interface, allows all employees to initiate and organize events with ease.

A macro is integrated into all event pages, and allows participants to RSVP (or unsubscribe) with just one click.

The new Easy Events version 1.4 is now available in the Atlassian Marketplace. In addition to bug fixes, we have added new functionality for significantly more flexibility.

Multiple events on one page

Until now, each Confluence page was limited to having one event. Now, multiple events can be planned on one Confluence page, with each event having its own name.

This is extremely useful when planning a series of events, such as workshops or training sessions, where each event has a limit on the number of participants, or when you want to provide a waiting list for additional participants.

Information privacy option

In this release, we have added an option to hide the list and number of participants. When this option is selected, users without write permission to the page can not see who is or how many are participating.

This is useful when data privacy rules need to be followed, for example: appointments with the workplace doctor for flu vaccinations, HR information sessions, etc.

Only users with write access can see the participants.

The organizer of the event can see the participants.

Note: we are continuing to develop this feature. For example, we plan to distinguish between the creator and the organizer of the event.

Disabled direct invitations without write access

There is also a new option to disable the direct invitation function for users who do not have write access to the page.

When this option is active, if User A does not have write access to the page, they can not immediately register their colleague, User B, to participate in the event. User A must send an invitation link to which User B can RSVP.

ICS integration for calendar software

Also new in Easy Events 1.4: ICS data is automatically sent by email when participants are registered. The event details can be automatically added to the users calendar software (e.g. Google, Outlook).

Calendar entries are sent in the following cases:

  • Event dates: When a user has registered or been registered for an event.
  • Changes: When an event's date, time, place or its name has been changed.
  • Deletions: When an event has been cancelled and deleted.

Summary

With the new release, Easy Events for Confluence has become much more powerful and feature rich. With its simple operation and configuration, it offer teams and companies more flexibility in organizing events, plus greater efficiency and ease of use for users with ICS integration

You are welcome to test this add-on: the updated version of Easy Events is available in the Atlassian Marketplace.

By the way, we've renamed Easy Events to be Linchpin Events. Did you know it is one of the core apps in Linchpin, our Confluence-based social intranet suite?
