The //SEIBERT/MEDIA Custom User Profile add-on allows users to expand their user profiles in Confluence both to provide new fields and structure the information. In order to optimize the look & feel of a profile, our development team has done a lot of work. Version 2.0 of the Custom User Profile add-on gives you a completely revised and structured profile view, making profiles the optimal contact point for collaboration.
Visually appealing, modern and clear profiles
The header has been improved with a prominent contact area, allowing a user to contact someone quickly and easily. The contact area stands out and includes three profile fields. In addition, you can add a freely configurable field, which is displayed without a label under the user’s name.
The profile photo in the contact area can now be edited directly from this profile view – simply click on the camera icon. Another new feature is that administrators can set a maximum file size for when a user uploads their profile photo.
The lower content area of a user’s profile has been split into two columns. This is much tidier and avoids wasting space. The various areas in these columns display the profile categories and their associated profile fields. In the add-on administration, you can move categories easily using drag & drop.
Improved vCard design
The vCard has also been redesigned. The contact area has been included from a user’s profile. In the add-on administration, you can choose between two modes: The fields can be transferred directly from the contact area to the vCard, or the contents of the vCard can be displayed in the profile editor, depending on the configuration.
With these new expanded user profiles, Custom User Profile is even more valuable: Users can enter content more efficiently, see all the important information at a glance, and identify their contact person more quickly. Administrators have a lot of flexibility to adapt the profiles to meet the specific requirements of the company.
You can now test the Custom User Profile add-on: The most recent version is available in the Atlassian Marketplace.
Custom User Profile is now called Linchpin User Profiles and is also a central part of Linchpin, our Confluence-based social intranet suite.
