With version 2.0 of Linchpin Intranet Suite, our development teams have once again delivered, giving you great new features.
In this latest release, the microblog got a brand new editor, the news is now even more personal and looks sharper than before. New developments in news magazines as well as Linchpin Mobile offer you numerous branding possibilities.
But don't worry, we didn't slow down our development pace: the next release, launching Linchpin Intranet Suite 3.0, is set to release in mid-January.
What are our Linchpin teams working on? What features are coming soon?
With the release of version 3.0, we're continuing to improve some stability issues. For starters, we're optimizing the technical basics of our apps. At long last, we've also started redesigning user profiles.
Additionally, we're focusing on the idea of self service. Configuring Linchpin will now be simpler and more intuitive. We're improving the user experience for administrators as well as on the front-end.

Language Manager
The Language Manager is a new feature in Linchpin that offers more intuitive user guidance. Now you can more easily access and manage your pages with the same content in different languages.
Authorization in Linchpin Events
We're improving the authorization (permissions) process in Linchpin Events. Moving forward, now it'll be possible to control authorizations (permissions) for visibility and editing in events.
Linchpin events with Unsplash connection
Now when you create an event you'll have access to royalty-free images from the Unsplash image database. This is an easy way for you to add high-quality, suitable images to your event display.
Configure Linchpin Theme in just a few clicks
Now you can adapt your Linchpin Theme much more easily (and in fewer steps) to fit the corporate design of your company.
User profiles and macros with background images
An intranet lives through the activity of each individual user. With the upcoming redesign of user profiles and macros, we've not only given them a fresh coat of paint but we've also given you more flexibility with regards to personalization.
Linchpin modules: improved display
When you install and try Linchpin, we want its features to feel intuitive - even without you needing to look at a README. Rather than having big empty spaces, we're designing our modules to display content in such a way that it shows you what a feature is intended for - or exactly what to do. Our goal is that you'll be able to use Linchpin's features in a more meaningful way.
New ways of working with Linchpin in the cloud
We've reached the point where one of our teams is developing Linchpin Intranet Suite for the cloud. We're taking what we've learned from our experience with Linchpin Server and we're bringing the product into the cloud as a modern software solution. Our development team is working on this as a stand-alone solution independent of Atlassian, but Linchpin in the cloud will still be integrated with Google and Atlassian. In the cloud, features such as changing a system's theme should be easier to use than ever before. We're also rethinking the Linchpin news feed and are giving it its own specially developed editor.
