We don't need to tell you anymore that the world of work has changed significantly since 2020 - to this day, we feel the winds of change everywhere. And it's now normal for some of your colleagues to work in a home office, while others are in the office and still others are doing a workation. This colorful puzzle of different work locations and forms is called hybrid working - and it offers many new possibilities and opportunities. But what sounds so ideal and simple is not always so easy to implement.

"Teamwork makes the dream work", "Together you can do more" or "Alone you are strong, together you are unbeatable" - there are countless quotes that describe the strengths of teamwork. But for your team to be able to deliver nothing less than top-notch teamwork, one thing matters most: Communication. As a team, you need to make sure you have a common goal and support each other along the way. This includes being in dialogue with each other and coordinating your approach.

In the office, it's often easy to stay up to date on the latest developments when you're all sitting in a common area and regularly interacting with each other. But how do you do that in a hybrid setting? If you work in different places and at different times, you can actually recreate such a common area digitally - for example, with the help of Google Chat.

Into Space! Spaces in Google Chat

Spaces in Google Chat are not rocket science. Spaces are special group spaces that you can make your own. In effect, Spaces are separate digital places where you can organize people, topics, projects - your entire team effort.

What makes Spaces different from regular group chat rooms is, among other things, the streamlined and flexible user interface that helps your team keep track of everything important. For example, different topics in your Google Chat are bundled into threads so that everyone in the team can better understand the context. Files and images can be shared in Spaces, as can tasks. Google documents such as spreadsheets, presentations or text documents can even be opened and edited directly in Google Chat. In this way, Spaces connect the right people, content, and conversations. The end result is that you feel like you're at one big digital desk - together with all your team members.
