In large Confluence instances with many active users, where there is a lot going on and the intranet hums with activity, it is not so easy to keep track of the various discussions. You can now easily subscribe to individual microposts and discussions with Microblogging for Confluence.

With Microblogging for Confluence, you can extend your company’s wiki and collaboration system with a feature set that offers modern, fast, straightforward social media functionality within Confluence – with timelines, comments and likes, topics to subscribe to, unread post indicators, and more. Microblogs let teams rapidly exchange, share and discuss ideas, they are great for internal announcements – the applications of microblogging are diverse. Our development team has just delivered Microblogging for Confluence version 3.1, which delivers a practical Hipchat integration.
B. Braun Melsungen AG with //SEIBERT/MEDIA developed and successfully launched an intranet based on Confluence for more than 50,000 employees: the B. Braun Knowledge Center BKC. This project was concluded with the implementation of our social intranet solution Linchpin.
In this post, I want to give you some insights into what we have been working on around Confluence and our social intranet suite Linchpin: What new versions and products are starting development? What new features will be delivered for our various add-ons soon? What is being optimized and improved? You can read all this and more.
Microblogging for Confluence is an add-on that extends Confluence to include a modern social media and communication feature with timeline, subscribable topics, likes, mentions, and other features that each employee knows from their private use of Facebook, Twitter & Co. Users and teams use Confluence microblogs to exchange ideas, to get quick feedback from colleagues, or to agree on projects in an uncomplicated way.
In the new version of Microblogging for Confluence, version 2.5, we’ve added a completely new sidebar for searching, subscribing and filtering. With this new release, Microblogging for Confluence provides additional customization options for your personal microblog timeline, making it much easier to find relevant posts, and enables a new way to stay on top of new microblog posts.
We continue to intensively develop our Confluence add-on ‘Microblogging for Confluence’. Version 2.3 has just been released, which implemented one particularly helpful feature: Users can now subscribe to a daily digest for selected spaces.
There are many different ways people communicate and develop content in an organisation. More traditional communication channels are meetings, telephone calls, and email. The development of intranet software, chat tools, and blogs has improved and streamlined communication in a company. All three tools cut down on the flood of email, allowing better collaboration and quicker resolutions of decisions and questions.
Microblogging for Confluence is a plug-in developed by //SEIBERT/MEDIA which gives Confluence the same social media features you know from services like Twitter and Facebook. Microblogs are good for ad hoc discussion, quickly addressing questions and making suggestions and simple exchange between teams, departments or across the entire company (a digital grapevine for the office). Our development team just released version 2.2 which offers a number of new features and improvements.
